Dr. Wellman holds a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Walden University, an MS in Psychology from Walden, and a BA in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. At UBC, Dr. Wellman assisted in forensic psychology research under supervision of Dr. Peter Graf and behavioral psychology research under supervision of Dr. Jack Rachman, pupil of Hans Eysenck. She is a trained classical pianist, published journalist, photographer, and artist. She served as a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) representative at World Environment Day in San Francisco (2005), Stockholm, Sweden (2006), and Oslo, Norway (2007). In 2007, Dr. Wellman designed and implemented a National Honor Society branch in which UNEP awardees such as Dr. Jane Goodall continue to mentor high school students in 40 countries to complete environmental projects. Since 2013, she has been involved with the Food for School project, which supports families in Afghanistan who keep their girls (and boys) in school.
